Life’s Reflection
Brenda J. Thompson was born in Hazard Kentucky on June 3, 1943 to Willie Kidd and Elsie Wilson. She spent many years devoted to her grandchildren and great=grandchildren. On Sunday, May 6, 2012 Brenda departed this life, which left an empty space in the hearts of all who knew her. We are comforted by the knowledge that she knew and accepted Christ at an early age.
She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Brenda was mother to Denise, Alfreda, Yvonne, Angela (James) Mahaffey, (Vanessa, Shirley, and Michael deceased); sister to Betty Kidd (deceased), and Sonora Bennett. Aunt to Karen Kidd and Kimberly Kidd. With a host of nieces, nephews, grand and great-grandchildren. Brenda will be greatly missed by all the family and friends she touched throughout her life.
We wanted you, but God wanted you more.
So today, we gave you all our love, held your hand and said goodbye as you took your rightful place in God’s kingdom.
A place you truly deserved. You have been such an important part of so many lives and we all have been better for having your life touch ours. We never met a person who did not fall deeply in love with you the very first time they met you. You filled our lives with love and grace. Not to mention the strength, trust, and truth you gave to all. You never met a stranger, only another person to love.
To those of you blessed enough to have had the opportunity to have known her, we ask you to let not her presence in your life be wasted. Allow her love, knowledge, strength, and gentle forgiving nature to live on in you. We came here today, not to mourn Brenda’s death, but to celebrate her life. We hope that is what you came to do.
