Obituary

Maggie Anita Clayton, 70, of Cincinnati, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025, after a courageous battle with urachal cancer.

Born in Tuskegee, Alabama, Anita was a gifted architect and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and woman of faith. She earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees in architecture from Tuskegee Institute, where she met and married Gregory Clayton. Her career included work with the National Park Service, contributing to the restoration of
historical landmarks, and later entrepreneurial ventures as a McDonald's franchisee.

A lifelong member of the church, Anita served actively in various congregations in Denver, St. Louis, and Cincinnati, where she also used her talents in service and ministry. She was a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and a lover of Corgis and music.

She is survived by her husband Gregory; son Camara Clayton; brother Lloyd Andre Walls; grandchildren Arianna Williams and David G. Clayton; and many other loving family members.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to cancer research or Corgi rescue organizations.

Anita was my classmate at Tuskegee and friend for many years. We graduated from Architecture school together twice. We did our Graduate Intern in Denver and later were employed by the National Park Service. Greg and Her moved to St. Louis and later to Ohio. She was like a Sister to me. I will miss her and appreciate that she was very kind and beautiful soul inside and outside. My heart and condolences to her family especially Greg her husband and Camara her son! My heart is broken because I can't make her services but she will always be in my heart. ❤️ Rest well my friend! ❤️🙏

My heartfelt condolences to Greg, Camara and family. Anita was one of the sweetest persons I knew. She walked the neighborhood w/Max and always stopped by my parents to say "Hi Mr. Willie and Mrs. Mable" with her amazing smile! Gone but not forgotten
