Visitation Saturday, March 30, 2024 from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at Norman Chapel of Spring Grove. Funeral Service on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Norman Chapel of Spring Grove, 4521 Spring Grove Ave, Cincinnati.. Burial at Spring Grove Cemetery. Walter Louis Clayton Jr. was born October 3, 1926 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the union of Walter L.
Clayton Sr. and Inez Agatha Clayton. He was the fourth of their 14 children. He was preceded in
death by his parents; nine sisters: Mary, Ardith, Dorothy, and LaVerne Clayton, Margaret
Penland, Josephine Hart, Ramona DuBose, Carolyn Graham, and Ruth Young; two brothers:
Ralph and Ellis Clayton Sr. Surrounded by family he departed this earth and journeyed home to
be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 20, 2024.

Walt grew up in the Old West End where he graduated from Woodward High School. He
participated in community activities including the Boys Club and the Y.M.C.A. He was also a
Golden Gloves Boxer.

Walter met the love of his life, Inez Pickard and they were united in Holy Matrimony July 29,
1957. They were blessed to have 50 th and 65 th weddings anniversary celebrations. Two this
union there are two children Gregory and Beverly. He was a loving husband, father,
grandfather, and great grandfather,

Walt worked as an engine assembler at General Electric Aircraft Engines and retired from there after 40 years of service,

Walter was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He was recognized for over 70 years of
faithful and dedicated Christian service. He served as the Chief Elder of the Church and
Communion Deacon.

He enjoyed family gatherings, professional and college sports, boxing, bowling, cooking, and
photography. He was a member of the Producers Social Club that held community events and
gave out college scholarships. He was an avid reader, enjoyed assembling electronic
components using Heath Kits, and he loved to drive! Walter and Inez traveled extensively in the
United States and abroad.

Walter leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Inez; his son Gregory (Anita); his
daughter, Bevely; grandsons Camara Clayton (Dawn), Kenneth C Clayton-Johnson (April), Brian Williams, and Robert Williams Jr. (Kim); 5 great grandchildren; two sisters Betty Grizzard
(Marvin) and Janet Parker; one sister-in-law, Anna Mae Clayton; one brother-in-law Jimmie Lee
Graham and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and loving friends.

Walt will be missed because he was loved so much and depended on by so many.
